Town of Dewitt - August 28, 2022

Project Watershed personel, at the request of the Town of Dewitt, held an afternoon fishing clinic and macroinvertebrate investigation for around 20 enthusiastic kids and their parents on August 28, 2010.

The macroinverebrates were collected in Butternut Creek, behind the Dewitt Town Offices, and the fishing clinic (involving learning to cast and then fishing for trout and sunfish) took place around an adjacent pond. Most of the participants, ages 6 to 14, had never done any fishing, but caught on quickly. They were amazed and fascinated at the life found in the stream with some hanging around asking questions well after the end of the event.
