PW Volunteer Brunch - February 2011
Project Watershed held its 4th annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on February 13 at Baltimore Woods Nature Center in Marcellus, New York. 48 volunteers, teachers, public servants, board members, and students from college and high school attended the function, which is meant to show how much their engagement in the PW program is appreciated.
Included in the day were prizes (for everyone, and then some), lots of great home-made food, a short thank you from the Project Watershed coordinator, and a running PowerPoint highlighting the past year's activities. Best of all, attendees got the chance to interact with other educators and involved citizens who share a passion for a healthy environment – and who are willing to go the extra mile to do what they can to make it so.
Though the weather was wintery outside, there was a warm glow at the gathering inside, with attendees all looking forward to getting out in the stream in just a couple of months – well, okay, make it three or four!
