4. Chemical Tests and Protocols

The following section will describe in detail the testing procedures used for each of the nine chemical parameters that Project Watershed CNY/SOS monitors (dissolved oxygen, fecal coliform, pH, biochemical oxygen demand, reactive phosphate (PO4)"3, nitrate (NOs)", chloride, turbidity, and total dissolved solids). A brief background discussing the importance of each chemical parameter in regard to overall water quality is included.
